Why are we bound
to that which we fear?
Perhaps so we
can sense
His presence
draw near.
Those words
that linger
in the depths
of our souls,
we long for their sound
to within us unfold.
“Do not be afraid,”
is what He did say,
“I am always with you,”
whispers in the fray.
When your heart is
riddled with ache and concern,
allow these words
to cling, brand, and burn.
Let yourself embrace
where distress is stored;
it’s just your soul’s desire
to hear the call of The Lord
