As I sit,
waiting
at the foot of your bed,
memories now knock
on a weary head.
As your limbs
twitch
and your eyes flicker,
I can’t help but
think our minds
in joyful tune
might sing
in whispers.
For a dance
reminisces
among these walls
and laughter relieves
bound sickly halls.
We now play,
chuckling
yet quiet we must be
for I know
those angels
do sigh for we.
Not sighs of
worry, pain, regret,
but with the joy
they know unto
heaven will be set.
One day, I know
waiting
for me –
will be the face
I will have longed
to once again see.
The angels
amusing
for rejoice must we all;
reunited we’ll one day be,
dancing eternally
among heaven’s halls.
