Help me to linger in the depths of mercy;
fill me quickly, Lord, for I am thirsty.

Take note of the first and last stanza. What has changed? Our ability to hear His steady voice: "I am always with you - in all of your sinfulness - I am there - even when you forget - I am there. My dearest child, the ears of Heaven remain faithfully open to your plea. Speak to Me,
