Like the seasons
does my soul still linger;
does it require continued work;
from mighty fingers?
Does it need warmth,
or lack fill?
Before you begin your day:
Let us pause today and rest. Use today as a time to consider these past days. Weeks. Do you feel different? How?
What emotions now travel with you on this journey? Weakness? Comfort? Stress? Joy? Sorrow? Doubt? Hope? What do you require of God as you continue? What does God require of you?
Choose a word or words from the poem that describe your needs; write it down on a piece of paper. This poem is only slightly different from the one you saw the first Sunday. Do you recognize the difference? The answer now lies within you.
Do you remember the word you chose the first Sunday? Is it the same? Why do you think its changed? Stayed the same? If you still have the papers you've collected from the previous weeks, attach any new ones to the stack. Keep them somewhere safe, so you might reflect on them later.
Remember somewhere on your journey, you became planted. As you moved forward and began to grow, your legs become stronger, your heartbeat stable, your senses keener, and your soul hopeful. What continues to try and devour you? Scorch you? Choke Him out?
Spend a few quite moments with God. Let the Holy Spirit root within you. Your urgency? His comfort? Speak and Listen.
During your day:
Reflect on any daily reading or devotional.
Throughout your day:
INHALE: Today, I require _________________________.
EXHALE: Fill this space with You.
(repeat as many times as needed)
Before you end your day:
Blessed Lord, thank You for this week. Help me to truly rest and reflect today. Guide my steps as We journey forward.
Goodnight; sleep well; know you are blessed.
