I need a Sower

for barren ground;

transform tangled spirit;

fulfill a heart now bound.

Life’s weather lingers

on weary souls;

till and nourish what is closed;

quench the thirsty once more.

Before you begin your day:

Let us pause today and rest. Use today as a time to consider these past days. Weeks. Do you feel different? How?

What part of you still requires Sow? Can you feel His quenching waters move within?

We endure many spiritual seasons in our life? Where do you feel you are? The excess of Summer? The floods of Spring? The bitterness of Winter? The dryness of Fall? Where would you like to be? The richness of Summer? The renewal of Spring? The refreshment of Winter? The transformation of Fall? Choose a word or words from the poem that describe the needs you have of our Mighty Sower; write it down on a piece of paper.

If you still have the papers you've collected from the previous weeks, attach any new ones to the stack. Keep them somewhere safe, so you might reflect on them later.

Remember you are planted. As you grow, you become stronger, more nourished, your roots deeper, and your spirit more colorful. What continues to weather this growth? Entangle it? Bind it?

Spend a few quite moments with God. Let the Holy Spirit spread His color within you. Your mind. His thoughts. Speak and Listen.

During your day:

Reflect on any daily reading or devotional.

Throughout your day:

INHALE: I thirst.

EXHALE: Quench my longing.

(repeat as many times as needed)

Before you end your day:

Blessed Lord, thank you for this week. Help me to truly rest and reflect today. Quench my spirit as We begin walking The Way.

Goodnight; sleep well; know you are blessed.
